Two males alleged to be co-owners of a web site referred to as mugshots.com have been arrested on suspicion of extortion.

Thomas Keesee and Sahar Sarid have been charged alongside two others – Kishore Bhavnanie and David Usdan – with working the location related to extortion, cash laundering and id theft.

They apparently ran the web site which mined knowledge from police and sheriffs’ web sites and picked up the names, reserving images and prices with out the people’ consent and hosted them for the world to see.

The location then allegedly refused to take away the felony file data till the topic of the {photograph} agreed to pay them a charge.

Based on the authorized grievance, the defendants allegedly extracted greater than $2m (£1.48m) from roughly 5,703 people throughout the US over a three-year interval.

It isn’t clear what’s going to occur to the location earlier than the lads go to courtroom.
