British lady falls to her dying ‘taking selfie’ in Portugal (News)

A British lady and her Australian companion have fallen to their deaths whereas taking a selfie on a wall at a seaside in Portugal, in line with native media.

The tragedy occurred on the Praia dos Pescadores close to Ericeira on the nation’s west coast.

The pinnacle of the rescue service at Cascais port close to Lisbon, Rui Pereira da Terra, instructed the Lusa News company that it was suspected that couple had been taking a selfie on a wall above the seaside.

He stated: “Every thing appears to point that the autumn occurred once they had been most likely making an attempt to take a selfie.

“Since we discovered a cell phone on the wall, all the pieces suggests the victims may need been taking a selfie, once they allowed the cellphone to fall, leaned to seize it and fell.”

One Portuguese newspaper reported that fishermen found the couple’s our bodies at about 6.30am.

The Jornal de Noticias reported: “At first the fishermen thought the corpses, from far-off, may be individuals sleeping on the seaside.

“Solely once they bought nearer did they realise it was a useless couple they usually had been shocked with what they noticed.”

The couple haven’t been named however some studies say the girl was aged 30 and the person 40.

A International and Commonwealth Workplace spokesperson stated: “We’re in contact with native authorities following the dying of a British lady in Portugal and are offering help to her household.”

The spokesperson didn’t verify the character of the incident or say how the girl died.

The Division of International Affairs and Commerce in Australia stated it was offering consular help to the household of the Australian nationwide who died.

It stated in a press release: “The division has been in touch with the British International and Commonwealth Workplace relating to the opposite one who died within the incident.”

The seaside, a preferred browsing spot 18 miles from the Portuguese capital, is surrounded by cliffs and a 131ft wall.
